Trayz explores the design of a modular outdoor kitchen that combines industrial systems with natural materials. Welded stainless steel frames, a gas cooking element, GN containers and a sink are contrasted with larch wood surfaces, creating a balance between cold, industrial precision and warm, calming materiality. Larch is chosen for its durability and natural resistance to weather, making it especially suitable for outdoor use. The kitchen is designed as a flexible furniture system rather than a fixed installation. Mobile modules such as a cooking unit and a table cart can be stored beneath the main work surface and rearranged as needed. Interchangeable larch trays function as worktops for both table and workbench, encouraging playful use and adaptability.
